What is CHOGM?
The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) is an event held every second year, where leaders of the Commonwealth countries come together to deliberate future policies.
So what is National Student CHOGM?
National Student CHOGM is our annual flagship event. It creates an opportunity for young New Zealanders to engage with international issues and become the next generation of leaders. During the Student CHOGM, high school students from across New Zealand come together to meet in Parliament and reproduce a Heads of Government Meeting by assuming the role of a leader, representing a Commonwealth country and debating and discussing issues of global importance.
During this event, students get the chance to build connections with like-minded peers, and with leading professionals in the field.
Registrations are currently closed. Our applications will open in May.
For prices, we have taken into account costs of catering for the two days, our fully funded state dinner in the Beehive Banquet Hall, utilities and printing. Prices for this year’s event as follows:
$220 per delegate going solo
$360 per two delegates from the same school ($180 per student)
$200 per media delegate — we are offering up to 10 of these slots!
$50 per teacher — it is optional whether teachers accompany students, and this fee does not cover the banquet hall dinner
[PLEASE NOTE: the pair discount is for country delegates, not media delegates.]
