Refunds Policy - Student Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2025 (SCHOGM) - Commonwealth Youth New Zealand

1.1. In general it is the policy of the Commonwealth Youth New Zealand Executive Committee (the Committee) that, where reasonable, we will endeavour to work with parties requesting refunds to come to an acceptable arrangement when possible, and not reject requests without due consideration, unless these requests fall within the time period specified in section 1.3 of this policy, and further do not apply to the exceptions outlined within the subsections of section 1.3 (1.3.1 & 1.3.2).

1.2. Any and all refunds and decisions regarding the granting of refunds are made at the absolute discretion of the Treasurer of the Committee, in coordination with the Committee.

1.3. No refunds, except for in the circumstances outlined below, will be granted within the period 30 days prior to the commencement of the Student Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (the event) (that is no refunds will be granted after the 3rd of June 2025).

  1. 3.1. Exceptions will be made for the occurrence of force majeure events that render the running of, or attendance to, the event entirely unreasonable or impossible (as determined by the Committee).

    1. 3.1.1. Force majeure events refers to the occurrence of major unforeseen and uncontrollable events which, should it occur, alters the ability to operate the event as planned. Examples of which can in certain circumstances include but are in no way limited to;

1.3.1.1.1. Significant natural disasters (large earthquakes, tsunamis, floods), government actions, public health measures, conflicts, riots and other disorders, emergencies, closure of major infrastructure (airports, ports, etc), pandemics, etc.

1.3.2. Refunds may be granted within this period in some exceptional personal circumstances, these will be assessed on a case by case basis by the Treasurer and the Committee, pursuant to section 1.2.
